Material and treatment

Peeled, or bark on

Coppiced hazel, worked fresh while it is still green. The fence rolls, the picket fences and the gates are split and peeled. The hurdles and the border edging are woven with the bark on. Colour and thickness shift between batches and seasons, and both turn grey outdoors over time.

Handmade, so sizes vary

Made by hand from natural rods, no two of them the same shape. Expect slight variation in size, and no two products that look exactly alike.

Bochemit Bluestop M

Blue stain and mould discolour fresh timber without weakening it. Bluestop M is the fungicide that stops them, a concentrate that soaks into the wood and leaves no film, no colour and no residue on the surface. It protects freshly worked timber through transport and storage. It has to go on bare wood, so the peeled products carry it and the woven lines travel in their bark.

EUDR

The EU Deforestation Regulation reaches us in 2027. We will be ready with the due diligence statement and the geolocation data it asks for.

Packing and labelling

Both are something we can do for customers we supply regularly, as an extra service. Tell us what you need with the order.

Cardboard boxes

We can box the goods instead of shipping them loose, for lines that have to reach the shelf as a retail unit.

Labelling

Item and pallet labels, including your own tags and barcodes, so the goods reach the shelf without being relabelled on the way.

Ordering

Minimum order

None. Freight is quoted per load, so a smaller order costs more per unit, but it is never a reason for us to say no.

Samples

On request, free of charge.

Lead time

Two to three weeks to produce a full truck on an empty queue, plus transit. Production runs one truck at a time.

Transit

Two to five days to most of the EU and EFTA.

Packing

Rolls travel on pallets with stanchions. At 90 and 120 cm a pallet takes 21 rolls at spacing 04-06 and 24 at 07-09. At 50 cm it takes 48, whichever the spacing. For the other sizes the count comes with your quotation.

Trucks

91 to 100 m³ EU curtain siders. A truck takes 24 pallets. The space they leave will not hold another pallet but will hold a few rolls loose, and we add them when you want the room used. Floor loaded without pallets a truck takes about 620 rolls of 100 cm.

Delivery term

DDP, Incoterms 2020. We book the truck, clear customs and deliver to your address, so there is nothing for you to file at the border. The freight is charged on top of the goods, at cost. Switzerland and Norway are outside the EU. We deliver there too, and you pay the import, duty and VAT included.

Freight

Quoted by the forwarder a week before loading and confirmed with you before we book. Rates move with fuel, so the pro forma does not lock them in.
